Heckler
First or second year of the design (AIR, could find out from serial number). Don't think it's old enough to be "classic", but is it worth anything more than a used old FS bike? I have a Rock Shox T2 fork too.

I rode mine about a month ago -- still works well -- however, the market is very soft for 26" bikes in general at the enthusiast level --- that one lacking disc tabs with a spring shock (and lacking a fork) plus the odd looking stem would put it in the "why bother" category for a lot of people
This Heckler design is the design the Superlight was based on when it was upgraded though. IT would make someone a really nice trail machine if those issues I noted were rectified

This thread from pinkbike is 7 years old, but I found it when I googled "1997 Santa Cruz Heckler" -- as I mentioned in my prior post, the bike may not have much appeal to someone looking at late model 29'ers -- but they can still clean up nicely

Thanks; didn't think it was worth much. I just built it with most of the parts you didn't like so it would fit, although have the originals. I gave it to my son for Christmas when new, and he returned it for me to play around with, since he has been riding a SC Tallboy for years. Not trying to sell since he wants the frame to hang on a wall at some future time.
