Looking for a bike comparable to a Trek 7500 Hybrid
Good evening. A dozen years ago, I sold my Trek 7500 (which I bought new for about $700) when I moved across country. I'd like to replace it with a comparable, less expensive, bike. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Trek FX 2 or higher.

You are welcome. Every manufacture has a bike in this category so you have a lot of options if shopping new. You can usually find them in the hybrid - fitness category on their web sites.

I still have a 2002 Trek 7500 FX, which was has been largely updated and converted to a drop bar bike with brifters. I use it as a gravel bike on local trails, and also an inclement weather bike. Solid American-made Alpha SL frame with new shifters ,brakes, crank set, BB, front derailleur, bars, stem, seat, tires... I'll probably be selling it cheaply in the Spring as I get a new bike that can handle gravel.
Trek still makes the FX line of "fitness bikes", which are basically hybrid bikes with slightly lighter wheels/components and faster-rolling tires. The 7500 FX became the 7.5 FX, which is now the FX Sport 5, or something like that.
