On the Track - Photos
Place to post photos of you racing or training on the velodrome.
Victorian Club Teams Premiership last Sunday - Yearly competition where clubs across the State compete against each other racing the Team Sprint and Team Pursuit.
Photo of me on the front racing the Team Pursuit. We ended up winning the Masters division. Qualifying first with a 2:18.024 and winning with a 2:18.524 (for some bizarre reason this year they had us only riding 2km! )

Tony's flyin' the club colors! And it's nice to see that they're finally issuing regulation size numbers. Wasn't substandard numbers (size and color) one the problems that led to the dismissal of the officials on Tuesday nights? Can't say I didn't tell ya so!

One is a standard 250M in Carson, CA (near Los Angeles): https://www.lavelodrome.org/
They recently hosted the UCI Paralympic World Championships this month. They have also hosted at least one UCI World Cup event.
Boulder Colorado has a 142M track: https://www.boulderindoorcycling.com/

Baton Rouge, Louisiana has a velodrome, but it is a newly renovated 333M outdoor track in a very warm part of the country, but the track scene is largely inactive. I'm not sure why, but it's certainly unfortunate.

I think you spelled that wrong: it should be, "some FAST guy".

Forest City Velodrome isn't too far away, but they are in a Provence (Ontario) not a State. I guess the new temporary velocrome in Chicago is planned to morph into an indoor velodrome if the plans come through.

I'm pretty good on the road and I've never ridden a drome. Would ~80gi be sufficient for a first timer? If I get my crankset on in time, I'll be around 85gi. I definitely feel like I can handle the increase on the road, but I'm not sure about the increased difficulty in skidding. Especially since I'm running these tiny BS plastic clips until I get some large Allcitys.

I am 100% serious, and I tell you this all the time. Hit me up whenever you want to go to the velodrome. Its always better to be on the track learning rather than online.
For a starter 80 is on the lower end of something that should work, 85 sounds a bit beatter. But it is widely dependant on who you are and how you ride. I have a spare 14 and 15 cog if you want to try some different things out. And on racedays there is a ton of gearing options around. Stephen who runs the track progam is a professional mechanic for SRAM neutral support, and has tons of great knowledge and gear.
Hit me up some time, we will go riding.
