Safety Lever Bushings Replacement.
Not sure if this is the right section, but I found that getting replacements for my bike was near impossible.
So I made some, without a lathe. So Lowes (or similar) and a local hobby store to get some brass tube.
I bought oiled bushing that was close to the lever size and brass tube to fit inside the bushing to get the fit right.
Using a drill, a shouldered bolt and washers, mounted the bushing and used a chisel and file to turn it down to size to fit in the lever.
Then used a hobby saw to cut bushing to right height.
Only difference is that the flange it .5mm thicker. But here it is, my replacement bushing.

Many of us take those “safety levers” (a misnomer) off and throw them away.

Looks like you did a nice job. I was able to find some spare parts on Ebay once, but I can't seem to recall the exact search term I used.

Nice job! Thanks for sharing. Yeah I know 'serious' bike guys knock these levers. I have bikes with and without. I find them very functional on leisurely rides. It is always an OMG moment when I have been riding a bike with them and then switch to one without. Many a first ride on one without I go to grab the lever and OMG they aren't there!
Psst, I also put kickstands on every bike I have. They are convenient as well!

'Safety levers' and 'Death Fork' (Viscount) were both not entirely accurate.
Not sure how many miles I rode bikes with safety levers versus miles ridden after removing safety levers. No brake-related accidents either way, that I can recall many years later.

I like when people do really nice fabrication, as opposed to mounting bike lights with old tubes and such.
The bushings in the photo are really nice work. I think it is great and the OP should be proud.
