SRAM P5 Shifter clickbox doesn't hold gear
Hello all,
I finally got a wheel built with a spare P5 and now my gripshift, which came apart a bit when mounting and remounting, had a rattle in it and ceased "holding" a gear – the return spring sends it spinning back into low gear without any clicking to keep it in place.
I managed to pull it apart a bit more and a little metal tab, about 5mm x 5mm x 2mm, fell out, which I presume was involved in holding the spinning part for some resistance somehow.. but I can't see how and where.
has anyone had one of these apart before to know where it goes? And/or what else would cause this issue of free-spinning grip shift? ( it sill correctly pulls the gear cable, but won't hold)
I will add photos when I return to my bike later
Bryan
