Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i bought a chainring....
50t for my standard cranks.
I'm thinking a 50-39 with an 11-23 is gonna be a nice setup.
As is, I rarely use my 53t.

I didn't really "buy" per se......

I took a Raleigh Mojave 29 instead of a paycheck last week. I've already replaced a bunch of stuff, just because I'm a dork.

Bell Sweep R (don't know what the R is for) helmet 2007 model on discount. Fits great, and the adjuster on the back doesn't pinch the back of my fat head like my old Giro Monza.

R = Road, meaning, no visor (as compared to the "XC" model which translates into "same thing but comes with a visor")

Good choice... the sweep kicks butt.

I went on a bit of a spree the last few days and purchased a number of items, but the real find was a NOS Centaur Carbon crank for $85.00

Now I have to find a bottom bracket for it.
