Brompton dynohubs and lights
What's the difference (aside from weight/price) in the Brompton configurations that have Shimano and SON dynohubs? Or does anyone have a non-stock, interesting configuration?

Brompton uses a 74mm wide fork , non folding bike hubs are generally 100mm wide. I expect Jur's SP is a 10cm wide hub
I did a dynohub retrofit on my Brompton . Shimano-brompton rim wheel $100. B&M Eyc Senso T head and Toplight Line tech 2 LED tail light .
New Schmidt Dyno hub SON XS is smaller ligher and Anodized, (in colors) Built around using a Radial spoke pattern.
their prior SON XS, uses a common J spoke and is Polished .
The Same Hex head QR is used in my Shimano -Brompton Wheel , supplied by Schmidt .. stainless steel end caps ,
their 100 mm skewers are Aluminum ended ..

From the reviews I've read, the SON has less drag. I had a Shimano dyno on my old Civia, didn't really notice it,but that was with 700c wheels.

I have now also gotten the SP for my Ti Swift, still have to lace it.

2 spade lugs on SON are more solid a connector than shimano ( i've had it pop off my Shimano) SP uses the same folded bare wire connector as Shimano..

Glad the Shimano has the folded wire connector. After I bought my Civia I pulled the front wheel to tighten up the fender, and this being my first dyno hub, didn't even think about unplugging it. Went "oh dren!",looked it up on the interwebs, and then easily fixed it.
