Finally the Schwinn Circuit I'm working on to turn over to my son.

I was wondering when these would show up. One followed me to work last week, where it will have to sit for a while:

Stock except consumables and the brake calipers (upgraded to TriColor dual pivots by previous owner). If you decide to get rid of the those RGCs on your son's bike, let me know.

Probably a size too small, but I'll try to convince myself otherwise this spring when it gets an overhaul.

Black racing bikes were never very popular here. Probably because all the other bikes were black BITD. One that was sold here, and the only one I have, is this Raleigh Record Sprint in the JPS color scheme that was popular then because of the Lotus F1 team:

There was a guy at my first duty station in the early 80s with a sweet JPS Capri much like the one in this picture. I so wanted that car.

I don't own a black bike. If I did, it would be carbon, and inappropriate for the forum.

I don't own a black car, either. Once I had my Inca Orange 2002 repainted black. Bad move.

I find tall black bikes to be particularly majestic. But regardless of height, there are a lot of gorgeous rides here. Black tends to be a favorite of mine (it's even my car's color!).

Everybody's black bikes are so shiny and nice!

This is my backup - an early 80's Taiwanese Schwinn Collegiate. I stripped everything off and put the drop bars on. It's surprisingly fun to ride, and the 1 3/8" tires are super cushy. The 3 speed is geared a little tall for windy days but it was nice today. Riding a 3 speed - I can't explain it but it just makes me feel good. I'd like to do the Lake Pepin 3 speed tour someday maybe. I like the way all those bikes look with their canvas saddlebags and frame pumps and tent rolls and dangling coffee mugs.

I would ride this nearly every day if it had comfier bars/tape, alloy wheels, and maybe a 20 tooth sprocket.

Here's a '73 Raleigh Competition that I had until earlier this summer when I sold it to a guy in St. Louis. Have since replaced it with another in a little nicer condition, but I don't have a pic of it yet. (kept the honey-colored Brooks saddle for another Motobecane build up.)

Also, my '73 Motobecane Grand Record that I replaced all the misc. parts with period correct Campy NR. Not all black, but close enough.
