I must look better from behind
On my ride this morning I stopped at a light at a busy intersection. There is a car next to me and a car behind them.
While waiting i hear hear a woman in the rear car whistle and then I hear her call out “you mind if I pat your ass when we go by?”
i can can only guess she thought I was far younger than I am. I suspect she was very disappointed when they did go past.

I have a take-a-look mirror on my glasses and have caught women slowing behind me when there was no apparent reason for them to. No one has verbalized their "appreciation" for my form like what you mentioned, but I would be thrilled...woman or man!

Most cyclists look pretty fit from behind. It's good exercise for the butt and legs. And the riding position stretches out stuff to appear taut when we know it sags off the bike.
I've known some women who seem pretty confident and assertive in flirting. But as I get older I realize it's mostly compensating for insecurities, same as men who catcall and hoot at women. It seems mostly harmless because men don't put up with it as a condition of daily existence. It's completely different for women.

If it was a man saying that to a woman then the police would be called and it would be on TV.
I'd tell the woman in the car that if she touched me she would be arrested.
Man or woman, I see no difference.

I suspect that my long graying hair, along with a bald spot in back, discourages that. Personally, I don't really appreciate it when it does happen, nor the commentary after I've passed by.

The difference it's completely non-threatening for a man to receive cat-calls from women. You may not consider it fair but it's certainly different.

I always have women sexually harassing me. I get offended and triggered. I want to be respected for my mind, not my body. They think I'm some kind of boy toy to use for their own pleasures.

I wish more woman would notice me. The last few times I tired to talk to women in bars my eyes started burning and watering and I couldn't stop coughing. Go concerned so I went to see my doctor. He old me it was the mace.

There are women who can overpower men and here in Georgia it is a pretty good bet that there is a weapon in most vehicles. I would view a woman in a car offering to touch me in that light. I'm sure culture is different in BC.
Touching someone else on the rear end isn't flirting. It's assault.

I think I understand your point.

How did you know it was a woman? Making assumptions from clothing/voice?

Non omnino gravis
"Women are allowed to get angrier than men about double standards." --Liz Lemon, 30 Rock.
If anybody hoots at me while riding, I take it as a compliment. I don't care who it's from. A disheveled woman, missing many teeth, approached me as I waited at a stop light in one of the more... colorful parts of town, and told me I was beautiful. I didn't even know how to respond to that. I don't care if she's crazy. I'll take it.

So, what did the woman in the car look like?
90 years old, no teeth, and weighing 450 pounds?
I get people yell at me from time to time, but I am never quite certain what they are saying, or if they are serious.

Some years ago, when I was in my late 40s, I had a similar experience.
I was track-standing at a red light when a convertible-load of coeds from the nearby university came up behind me. One of them whistled. When I turned and grinned, her eyes went wide and she yelled, "Oh my gawd! He's OLD!"
Made my week.

Yeah we're drinking and we're biking
but there's nothing really happening
And the path is dead as Heaven on a Saturday night
And I'm a very close companion
I'll get you fumbling get you laughing
I'm over ninety but I'm wearing something tight
(apologies to the late Leonard Cohen for screwing with the lyrics to "Closing Time"
