Look KG 243

Just put this together quite quickly from parts I picked up recently and the frame I was particularly happy to find in my size. Not super light (the wheels are monsters) but it rides incredibly well indeed - it's hard to describe the level of faith I have that the bike is going to do exactly as I want at any corner at any speed having only ridden about 50km on it so far.

It's a mix of 8-speed Athena and Chorus, with 9-speed Athena dual pivot brakes and the wheels are Rigida DP18 on Mavic 501s.

Also the only one I've ever seen like it, pretty sure it's 753 because of the seat cluster (even though it arrived with a battered SLX decal on it), although I guess it could also be a mix of tubing. Rides great, been putting a lot of miles on it lately and could be next year's long distance rider. Few more snaps:

Sometimes I just sit and stare at it.
What size is that little ring? The big ring is a 53?

Nope, it's a compact: 50/34. The Sugino comes with a 48 big ring but I swapped it out for an FSA 50. Six months in I've put about 1,000 miles on this bike and it's really just dreamy.

^^yeah, I know^^
I think of you & Keith every time I ride this bike. Bought some black Merckx logo bar tape and when I rewrap it I promise I'll polish that stem.

'86 Miyata 1000, purchased on eBay last summer. Appears to have been hardly ridden (OEM Radial tires look almost new). All original, with following changes:
• Brooks B-17
• Added VO fenders and mud flaps
• IRC 13-32 freewheel
• Shimano Alivio long-cage RD
• New brake hoods
• New handlebar tape

My 1964 Schwinn Paramount P-13. Have the original build sheet and receipt, too! She's been ridden hard...and is currently naked, getting lubed, and ready for re-assembly. I'm NOT repainting though, just a few coats of wax and a peaceful rest of her life!

That will be a very, very nice example of a full-panto Colnago! I can't wait for pics, either

So, to help out - I'm guessing it will look something like this - only red:

Please post some detailed photos once you have completed your build - thanks!

My recently acquired '82 Masi:

Still waiting on some tubulars (been 35 years since I last rode them) and some new hoods. The wheels in the picture were borrowed from my Trek 770 commuter.

Nope, San Marcos, CA. Faliero Masi (the dad) moved to Carlsbad, CA in the early 70's, then some years later the operation moved to San Marcos. Bob Hovey's site has a fair amount of detail on this sort of stuff (serial numbers, what decals were used when, etc).
