We've talked about Bill Cunningham quite a bit here. The NY Times photographer died last year after many, many years of peddling around NYC in search of photo ops.

His trademark bicycle will soon be on display at the New York Historical Society.

I saw a documentary on him and he said he had, I think, dozens of bikes stolen over the years, so I don't know what his "trademark" bike is. Maybe the last one he owned?

Bill would buy used bikes from the 70s and make them single speeds. He did own a Bria bike because they are usually inexpensive. It's funny because I never saw him on the streets or maybe I did but didn't know who he was.

Bill is a good example that you can become a well known photographer and not own a car!

Yeah... I wondered about the quote about his Biria. He claimed he always bought used bikes too...

Anyway, as I read the story I wondered if my trademark Fuji (hand-painted Tremclad blue...) would ever get in a museum...
