IMHO $850 would be a huge stretch, lots of mottling in the chrome, at least one ding in the TT. Don't get me wrong, I love Pmounts and have 4 but the chrome one I have is on par with this one was $200 and I had some remorse at that. It wasn't chrome, but I paid $750 for the last one, and it was complete. Patience is key.

It would take some work to bring it up to speed but if I were in the Ventura area (and didn't already have one) I'd have no issues dropping $175 on this Bob Jackson. It looks like it mostly needs a good cleaning, and very nice that the seller still has the Cinelli/3TTT bar/stem combo to go with it and get rid of those things that it currently sports.

^^^^^ I was just thinking the same thing -- would I live to see a photo of "those" bars/stem and a tubular spare under the saddle of the same bike? It's amazing the bike didn't medically reject the transplant.....

There is a preponderance of mid-level C&V (e.g. Trek 600-ish) road bikes showing up on the local CL with various forms of geezer-glide mod-versions inflicted upon them. I often wonder how much secondary income the shops made re-selling the usually good quality removed parts.* Still, never seen such a... procedure... done to something as nice as a Bob Jackson.

So the seller has the OG bar/stem, but what about the brake levers and shifters?

*(Or how much fun the wrenchies had taking the parts home for their own projects....)

Raleigh (Lenton Grand Prix) 1957 - $395 (lake forest)

for sale: Raleigh Lenton Grand Prix. This is from 1957 as dated on the original Brooks saddle. All components are the top end race components of the time. Reynolds 531 tubing....Original white Bluemels light weight fenders.. Original Benelux from and back derailleurs, Rear derailleur is in remarkable condition. All parts are original too the bike. I have replaced the front handlebars to GB Ventoux bars that are wider in nature, And are flawless. I do have and is a part of this sale, the original lugged stem and the handlebars that are in very nice shape and again....are original to the bike and will be included in sale. I did add a period correct Milremo stem to accommodate my size. The bike is 58cm center to top. I am 6 foot tall and it fit very well. I would say the bike is best for a person 5 foot 9" tall to 6 foot. Has the very very rare Weinmann brakes with the quick release opening feature. (Best part of the bike I would say!! You push the red button and the brakes open to allow the wheels to come easily off. (A great feature!!) HAs the beautiful swans on the from chain ring. Has the Dunlop Race light rims and hubs. HAs the original 730 race brake calipers on front and back. Dinamo works but is not connected. Both front and rear light worked but bulbs flickered out so I disconnected, but all original, This bike is rideable and very responsive. Hss all visible decals and all original paint. Some paint loss, but no dents and dings. Bike is in very good mechanical condition. Wheels could use a once over as it sat leaning for over 20 years.. my number is 1 (8 four Seven) two eight zero-one five four five...if the post is up, than it is for sale

Overpriced for a bike that's been rode hard and put away wet. And an odd admixture of components (I theeenk that's because it was only sold new as frame/fork). Still, you don't see these pop up every day.

When you don't/can't read the name on the bike and misspell on the ad no one will see it!

Anyway, Raleigh Super Course asking $125 with local pick up in San Diego. Rd looks like an upgrade. Frame has Carlton stickers.

I don't see $125 but it does say OBO.....

'88 Schwinn Circuit - $250

"This bike is tuned and runs beautifully. The only reason why I am selling it is because I am moving to Europe.

The size of this bike is 21" or 53 cm.

Googling the "1988 Schwinn Circuit", the first hit is going for over $700.

Here is some information about the '88 Circuit on Road Bike Forums:

https://forums.roadbikereview.com/re...uit-92943.html

Stealing this bike for 300$ at a thrift shop:

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...n-circuit.html

The frame is made of Columbus SL Tubing. This is really good steel. They don't make them like this anymore. Everything on this '88 Schwinn is made in Italy, not in China.

Needless to say, at this price this vintage bicycle is a steal.

All original parts are included, including the original Shimano Santee parts and Concor saddle (sells for 70$ on ebay).

In addition, there is a Time Trial Bar, an extra Cinelli quill stem (bought for 50$ on ebay) so you have 10cm/12cm options, two extra saddles, Degreaser and Chain Oil (both unopened), two sets of cork/gel handlebar tape (unopened), a new Shimano Derailleur (not necessary to install as the bike splendidly with the original Santee), a brand new 45$ pump, a combination lock which attaches to the seat, and a bike rack.

Did I mention that this is a steal?

First come first serve; cash only.

Thanks for viewing!

Kickstand!
Not sure I agree with you. It's all about the paint and it seems in pretty good shape from the pics. People have paid a lot more for a lot less. 105 crank, brakes, levers (?) and shifters is a good start. I may be partial. That paint has metallic flakes and looks like it would clean up nice. Black and gray is also some of the easiest to touch up. Decals look fully intact. Looks like there could be a diamond under that grime. If I didn't already have one ....
