RI and MA is aweful today. Who in all of New England is challenging this heat?

I struggled in Tuesday's slightly lesser heat riding a century along the Farmington Canal from MA down into CT and back.
Today in NYC was obviously hotter but rode a bit over 8 miles of the Hudson River greenway and actually kind of enjoyed it - the heat had chased almost everyone else away, which removed a lot of the usual aggravation and made it fun again.

Was out at 6:30AM today with a small group. 78 at start, went to the beach which had a wonderful west wind blowing. Then back to cars, 87 at end, humidity at 75% so a tolerable ride, but everybody knew to go short and easy.

Funny to see the northeast sweltering while we're only supposed to be in the low 90s here. Which is a relatively cool summer day for these parts.

I was out of the East Bay path in RI at about 7AM, and it was already in the high 80s. The upside was the path was pretty deserted and it made for a very nice ride. Got home before the worst of the heat. My partner had left the AC on when he left, so the apartment was very comfortable once I had finally struggled up the stairs with my bike. Overall, it ended up being a great ride.
I did take it easy, and had brought two bottle that were half filled with frozen water. My water was still cold when I was pulling into my building, so I think that made the biggest difference.

I rode down here from New York on Friday, a ride of 95 miles on a day when it hit about 94. I intend to ride home on Tuesday, assuming that it does not rain.

It got into the low 90s F during the worst of the heat but I went out early so not too hot. Like Hanna, I freeze half a water bottle and that keeps it cold for several hours. If I'm doing an all day ride with two water bottles one will be half frozen the the other totally frozen. For these long rides I've made two bottle "parkas" from some wind block fleece. That keeps the drinks cold all day, about 6 hours.
Living on the Mississippi gulf coast for 10 years or so, after getting used to the heat, I could play tennis for hours at mid-day but I did drink water by the quart and sweated copiously. A tennis friend, a born and bred southern boy, wold merely show a sheen on his brow.

I was in Shanghai the last two weeks and let me tell you, I've never felt such heat. Temps were around 99 for a few days but the humidity was so stifling that you could barely breath. The heat index was 116F. You couldn't move without getting drenched in sweat.
