Visitor question riding the Toronto Lake Shore Trail

I am in Toronto on business for a few days and I would like to ride the Lake Shore Trail. I have a road bike with S&S Couplers and I am staying in a hotel near the Wellsley metro stop.

What is the best way to bike down to the Lake Shore Trail? Which direction should I ride on the trail?

Would it be worth it to take the ferry out and ride on Toronto island in the evening?

I just want to do a leisurely 15-30 km ride with little or no traffic. I am thinking of riding tonight after work.

Thanks in advance!

Go to Sherbourne st and head South. If you ride into the lake you've gone too far.

Lol - from there, go west . You’ll have to pass through a fair bit of pedestrian traffic before getting to the some open path, but it’ll be worth it once you get through DT
