Drive Through

I don't think this is the end of the world. Next time bring a lock and respect their policy.

Saying F*** to a customer will almost certainly get most employees fired. You missed an opportunity there. You could have at least got an apology and a free meal out of it if you had played your cards right.

Most fast food places with drive through service do a majority of their business thru the drive thru window. Plus, there's a growing trend of fast food places not having any dining rooms, focusing on drive through, pickup and delivery orders. While I don't use drive through windows myself I don't see why they shouldn't accommodate cyclists. I'd rather have cyclists through the drive thru instead of bringing their bikes in the dining room. (yeah, I get it that people don't want to get their bikes stolen, but I'm sticking with they don't belong inside stores and restaurants).
However, we're a long way off from cyclists being reasonably accommodated by most businesses so quit your bellyaching and vote with your money. Spend it where it's welcome the way you want to spend it.

In sum: Some businesses don't allow bikes in drive-thru lanes for liability reasons. Others don't care. What more is there to discuss?

Cycleway town
My kid likes fast food, i allow it once a week. We go to a place with a drive-thru. We're on an electric tandem. I guess i'd be within my rights to use the drive-thru, especially as it can be a pain to park the tandem (their cycle parking is seldom big enough).
But there's a problem. And it ain't the staff. It's the other drivers.
Do you think i'm gonna place my daughter in a line of traffic, full of motorists more interested in whether they have the correct change, or whether they want regular or medium fries, than they are about whether their foot is on the brake..?
I'll find somewhere to put the bike, thanks.

Regardless, the incident could have been handled with a bit more tact and not with the language used, if it happened as the OP related it. That's just extremely poor customer service, and in most places an employee dropping an F bomb will get them fired.

Drive through? Just have grub hub deliver it to you on your selected route. You wont even have to stop, just grab the window of the moving car.

Quit being such a hypocrite. It seems like 90% of your posts are about how bad BF posters are.
Oh, and I go through the drive-thru at Wendy's a lot. There's one about 5 blocks from where I live, and a couple burgers after a century really hits the spot.

I don't think that this type of event warrants a bikeforums.net discussion. For me, I would get the name of the server, the manager, and the store number, and then go home and compose a letter to the President and Chief Operating Officer of the fast food chain or its parent company and be done with them.
EDIT: The letter should focus on their demeanor, their language, and their inability to treat a customer respectfully. Do not question the policy, it is not relevant to them. The behaviors of employees...that's relevant.
Writing about it here is like farting in the wind.

That's what I did with Chase Bank. I rode up to the drive through on my bicycle like I'd done before (and past an ad they had in their window that featured someone on a bicycle) and got told it was against policy, even when I pointed out I'd done the same on my motorcycle and could walk over to the ATM. So I switched to a bike friendly bank that wasn't run by white collar criminals like Chase.

In the Tampa Bay area. I don't eat fast food so I don't order the food but pretty much haven't had any issues with any of the fast food drive thru's in this area when asking them to fill up my water bottle(s). However, the one that seems to be the best is Dunkin' Doughnut. They always give me cold water and a friendly hello.
