Frame painting
Does anyone know of someone who does a good job at frame painting in the Northeast? I've got a steel tandem frame and would like to avoid the cost of shipping it to the manufacturer on the West Coast.

I got a couple of my bike frames done at my local body shop before I got a compressor and spray gun and it didn't cost me very much.

Might want to browse the bicycle section in your local Craigslist ads for bicycle powder coaters. There's one that advertises there weekly, another one a bit sporadic.
Or....see if there aren't any in CL, then Google your area. I found a couple closer to me that could handle a tandem frame (even visited one). Just haven't had the time to get the project done.....

Spectrum Cycles (Tom Kellogg) near Philadelphia has a very good reputation. https://www.spectrum-cycles.com/repair.php

Bilenky Cycles in Philadelphia also does repaints. They have done brazing and touch-up work for me several times, and it's always turned out well.
Speaking of brazing, you should consider if there are any additional bits that you want brazed-on. A repaint is the perfect time to do it! I've added kickstand plates to both my Santanas (Bilenky did them) and they work great, for example.

Where are you in the Northeast? I've had two bikes paint in the last ten years. On at Spectrum which was perfection but the cost is pretty high and one at Hot Tubes in Worcester MA which was an ok job and inexpensive. If memory serves me, Bilenky Cycles uses FreshFrames in York PA who looks to be only doing OEM work. They have a page on FaceBook. There was a place over in NJ that was doing painting too but cant remember the name. Some of the Motor Cycle shops use powder coaters which might be an option too. Best of luck!

briwasson, just clicked on your link and it does look like Bilenky Cycles is now doing their own work. Very interesting.

I suggest avoiding Bilenky.
The best paint I've ever seen comes out of Fresh Frames in York PA...but he doesn't always work with the public. Spectrum/Tom Kellogg is a close second.

I'm in CT. There are a couple of small areas of surface rust and a couple of dings to be dealt with. So I'm thinking a sandblasting and minor body work due to it falling over and hitting a rock(!@#$!!!).
LonAaron Snake, why avoid Bilenky?

I'd prefer not running him down on the net; over the years I've become increasingly disappointed and I'll leave it at that. I live in Philly and I want to heap praise upon him - I can't.

I've heard good things about Circle A Cycles in Providence.
