Mrs datlas and I went on a hike this afternoon. Halfway through our walk, a couple came by walking in the opposite direction. I gave a friendly hi and waved. The wife smiled and waved, but the husband gave us a dirty look and said "Vietnam is THAT way" and pointed in a direction off the path.
I ignored them, but part of me wanted to get in his face like Robert DeNiro in Taxi driver...."you talking to ME?" style.
Probably best that I did not do that, but people full of hate need to keep it to themselves and/or go back under the rock they came from.
p.s. mrs datlas is Korean, in case people don't know

Mrs. GeneJockey and I keep coming back to Pennsylvania as a place to retire, but the whole 'Alabama in the middle' aspect is discouraging.

That said, no one has ever pointed me in the direction of Canada. Just an FYI.

Pretty sad, Doug. The one good thing to know is that that guy is on the road to hell.

Interesting choice of country to pick. Somebody is having a hard time letting go of the 60/70s.
Said person is still an ass hole and needs to seek treatment.

Twice on today's ride when braking I could feel/hear the back wheel locking up. The second time, the rear actually kicked out to the right a bit, when some clown in an SUV decided that a narrow road right before a blind corner is the perfect place to make a K-turn. I was going about 25-30, because this is the start of a short but sweet, no pedaling/no brakes descent with a couple sweepers that you can take at higher speeds than I've gone on them. My kudos to Shimano's 105 discs.

I am glad you were wise and didn't say anything though it rightfully infuriated you. Very odd saying Vietnam. I hope it was dementia. I would hate to think it was coming from a rational mind.

Probably best that I did not do that, but people full of hate need to keep it to themselves and/or go back under the rock they came from.

I know you thought it was a joke but sometimes you need to understand when things are not a laughing matter. It was in poor taste. I won't comment any further since we don't need serious controversy in this thread.
Despite this I'm still a fan of @Velo Vol

But to add context to my "joke," I'll say this: in case anyone has missed it, there's been a ton of inexcusable #^&* going on in the world lately. And if I don't have at least one outlet for levity, which is generally this thread, we may need to find an institution for Velo Vol . Just sayin'.
