What kind of cable does this take?
Hello,
Want to get a new shifter for my sturmey archer three speed mounted bike. What kind of cable do these shifters take? Is it the normal shifter cable that goes into friction shifters or is it the three speed shifter with the weird end? (An included picture would help!)

Sturmey Archer "3 speed" covers a hundred years. You're going to have to be more specific as to what model hub you have.

The modern shifter in your picture uses a standard shift cable; you'll want the eye bolt and adjuster on the other end:
The older trigger-type shifter uses a special cable end:
OEM shift cables for the trigger unit do not use an eye bolt at the hub end, but are fixed length with the adjuster permanently attached to the cable. Most third-party shift cables will use the eye bolt instead.
