I could never not take a camera with me on a trip, but I favor the shorter focal lengths and have a mirrorless body, so it's not too much of a burden for me... as long as I'm not lugging that beautiful but beastly Distagon. I suppose that's where that, "the best lens is the one that you've got with you" saying comes from.

He had to give up group riding (which is better because of the Covid anyway), but he's been doing a 20ish mile solo MUP ride three times a week. He's 79.

I like the longer lengths, and so the real camera KILLS it - the 56mm FOV on the 11 Pro was the selling point for that, as it would allow closer to my favored 70-100mm in my pocket. I took an EosM and the 22/2 to Rome, and it was JUST too big to easily fit in a pocket and so it required bag space or a swingy strap, and that plus the the Pro was it.
