Loose Uniglide Freehub Cogs
I have seen some not pinned together. How many models did Shimano put out?
Here is probably the last of them: a 7400 8 speed

Image is fine on my iPad.
And I have some 8s loose cogs, too.
None of mine are pinned together; makes it easy to flip over for longer use.

Do you notice how the silver finish is different on the top five from the bottom three sprockets? I'm guessing some are Dura Ace while the others are 600. Not that it matters except on the first (and possibly the second) sprocket which can be DA specific.
Ex Pres as far as flipping worn sprockets, do be aware that the tooth profile or "twist" is in a specific direction which assists in smooth SIS indexed shifting. Flipping some will create mismatched "twists." And realize in the example pictured by the OP, the two smallest sprockets cannot be flipped because of the threading and the built-in spacer.
My recommendation when replacing worn Uniglide cassette sprockets is to cannibalize a new Shimano, SRAM, Sunrace, etc., hyperglide cassette. Make certain it is one which can be completely dismantled by either unscrewing or grinding off the rivit which holds the sprockets together.
Next, grind the large tab on the HG sprockets to the smaller UG size. Using the original or a replacement threaded UG small sprocket (don't use a non-DA threaded UG with DA UG) and your original UG spacers, secure the new HG sprockets to your UG freehub body. If a UG spacer is damaged or lost, a HG spacer or spacers of the same speed cassette can be substituted.

One note: The last UG/HG compatible 7403 DA hubs used the larger diameter threaded small cog just like the other UG models. So you can use any UG type cog on those.
The older 7402 and earlier DA hubs employed the smaller diameter first cog.
