Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Helmets on a fix is terribly uncool.

Spending the rest of your life in a wheelchair because you wouldn't wear one, now there's the definition of cool.

Chicks dig brain damaged guys that drool on themselves - ditch the helmet! And the brakes. Um, and the bars... And the seat...

Yeah, just ditch the whole bike, go lie on the ground somewhere and have your buddies drop cinder blocks on your head from a ladder. Saves the time waiting for an accident...

Uncool is the new cool. there is always somebody that will think you look like an a55hole no matter what you wear. stop thinking about what you look like and go have fun on your bike.
and if you were asking about temperature. just make sure you get a well ventilated helmet, the wind will keep you cool.

https://www.bhsi.org/stats.htm

Riders with helmets had an 85 percent reduction in their risk of head injury (odds ratio, 0.15; 95 percent confidence interval, 0.07 to 0.29) and an 88 percent reduction in their risk of brain injury (odds ratio, 0.12; 95 percent confidence interval, 0.04 to 0.40).

The exposure survey found that only 11.8 million (18 percent) of the entire population of about 67 million bicyclists wear helmets all or most of the time. Another 6 percent, representing about 4 million riders, reported that they wear helmets sometimes, but less than half of the time.

What if we change the discussion to helmets on Pistas vs Langsters and weather or not people with fewer skid spots should wear less aerodynamic helmets to increase drag therefore increasing stopping abilty.

So basically, helmets reduce the risk of brain injury (a form of head injuries) 3% more than they reduce the risk of head injury? How does this work?

From imaneffingtard.com/wayofficialstats.html

Riding a campy hat has shown to reduce face injuries from getting punched in the mug cause you look so cool by 88%. Riding with a pink campy hat nobody will touch that, not the angriest driver in the world cause your HAWT BABY, HAWT! Campy hats have been shown that combined with an overly inflated head because you are the coolest person in town your chances of head injuries are greatly decreased by a factor of one zillion kajillion billion parsecs.

Awh dude, -lose the smokes, wear a helmet. I just had to give up cigs (hmmm, Camel Lights...-tasty!), becz I up'd my chain ring to a 48, -from a 44, with a 16 in back...so basically it is a 'trade off' -more speed but no more tasty smokes. And why does a helmet have to cramp your shizzle? ...Life is about "balance" -and passing on your genome with the help of consenting young ladies...period
