Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Marinoni bicycles

Can anyone tell me anything about Marinoni bicycles? They're a builder in Quebec, CA that makes frames and complete bikes. I clicked on the "Contact Us" link on their website and it was dead. However, most of the rest of the site is up.

I happened to live in Montreal... Marinoni is known for their steel frame bike (now doing all kind of stuff) that were made in their factory (I think it's still the case for steel bike, carbon are probably made in Asia).

Contact page seems to works now:

I purchased my Marinoni Ciclo in 2003 ... a beautiful little bicycle.

Many Canadians own Marinonis and if I were to return to Canada, I would be very tempted to get another one.

They've been building bicycles for 40 years and this is their website: Cycles Marinoni

I love my 1987 Marinoni SLX, purchased as a used frame last year. I sent them an email with the serial number at the time and received a very prompt reply from Simonne (Ms. Marinoni) regarding my frames' origination.

Our clubs coach sells them so there are many around here. They makes nice steel and Ti frames. There carbon are from a catalog from Asia but seem good from what I've seen. The ability to choose your components at time of purchase is really nice. I've been really happy with my cross bike.

Giuseppe Marinoni, cyclist extraordinaire, master frame builder and holder of the hour race record for his age category is too busy to make beautiful custom made works of art for you lot. I only have four of his bicycles and I plan to get one more from him so I would appreciate it if you bought a Trek or Specialized or something so he can save his energy to build mine.

Thanks everyone! I've emailed them with all my questions, so I'm hoping that I'll hear back soon.
