Yes the pic is a few months old there is a rear brake now. The pic was taken at the Horton house on Jekyll island. Beautiful place for some casual riding to take in the scenery and history.

I was in Savannah for the first time this year. At least one long weekend along that part of the coast is planned next year for exactly the reasons you mention.

It's a good old-fashioned Surly Pugsley, and it's my favorite bike. For more info, click on back to Page 1, to the first post in this entire thread.

I just picked up a Salsa Casseroll 55(58). Rides really smoothly.

I installed a 100x30* stem and moved my Eriksen ti post and Gobi XM saddle over from my mtb SS, otherwise riding it as seller had it spec'd (Woodchipper 44, SRAM/ENO 42/20, Tektro R538). Needs a smaller freewheel, maybe a QR for rear axle.

Is that an Exposure light on the bar?
What model?
How does it work and how do you like it?

It's an old Exposure Diablo. Maybe 7 years old? Still works, so I can't complain. It's also light, well made, has an internal battery, requires minimal bar space, and looks trick. But honestly, as a h-bar light, it's a disaster. Beam isn't wide or strong, lens isn't adjustable, and runs out of juice in no time. It's best used as a helmet-mounted light for mountain biking (in combo with a bar mounted light), which is what I bought it for.
Oh, and it can't run at full power in 100F heat for more than a few minutes (I ride year round in Phoenix).

Thanks.
I own an Exposure Strada 1200. It is as bright as the sun and can run on high for a 40 mile ride and still have 50% juice. Beam pattern is not as good as the Light & Motion Urban series but it is my go to light.
Exposure can service the light including installing a new battery if you wanted.

Enjoying the ride
just finished reading this entire thread; a lot of nice bikes here. Couldn't see all of them while I was lurking; should have joined months ago

Beicwyr Hapus
I've just made this out of a 60s Sun Mass Start. I bought it on Gumtree for £20 as it had two new tyres, which was cheaper than buying the tyres for a bike I was building at the time. Rather than waste the bike I converted it to a single speed, as a first SS project, using bits I had in the shed plus a new freewheel. I kept the steel wheels as they are fairly light and run freely. The original white paint was a very poor state so I sanded it to use as a base coat and gave it a rattle can spray paint job in white.
I've been out for a couple of rides on it and it's pretty good to ride, even though I'm not used to a single-speed, plus the brakes on steel rims work well (in the dry, haven't tried them in the rain!). The cut down and flipped drop bars are very much like riding on the hoods on standard bars.
