Before Winter After Winter Photos
I'm personally scared to death that i'm gonna let those pounds creep back up.. but more than that i'm scared of letting my fitness level drop even if i keep the weightloss off ..i dont want to totally lose my fitness level...In fact i'd like to get better and better.... So i figured i'd make this post for all of us that need a little umph over the winter.. Post your pictures now and we'll update them in march or so..
2008 is going to be something else! For all of us on this Journey...
If anyone wants to escape to warmer weather for a ride in the winter let me know!! if your in the Midwest... I have access to a 12 pass camper also..
Let's Do this!! Keep the Fire!

Great idea. I just broke the "3 mark" and weighed in at 299 today. I'll have my wife take a photo of me and my bike tomorrow before I ride 50miles. Maybe I'll be noticably skinnier when I return?

What does everyone do in the winter for exercise that live in the midwest and crappy roads. I plan on riding, until the snow is on the roads. But, the forecase is for Tuesday for us to get the first snow. If that happens, I will be using my rollers.
Besides bicycles, I am at the gym for at least a 50 minute cardio workout everyday.

Even though I've lived in Minnesota for 30 years, I'm a wuss. It's to cold for me to enjoy riding so I've hung the bike up. I have a trainer coming for christmas. In the mean time I have an old stationary bike and nordic track that I use indoors. I have a treadmill being delivered today. In lue of the bike rides, I've been jogging 2 miles a day outdoors if the weather is dry. I usually follow the jog up with a 20-25 minute ride on the stationary bike. I have no intentions of letting the winter slow me down. I'm going to pick up a pair of snow shoes or cross country ski's to keep me acitve in the outdoors this winter.

I've already been biking less, and it's not even all that cold. On the upside, I'm walking about 15 miles a week now.

Bicycle -- We've had fabulous weather here in michigan I'm still putting in 100 miles a week commuting. worst weather we've had has been mid 30 in the morning. I've haven't had to break out the pants yet (still riding in Knee warmers) Last year I only took about a month off (I'm still not comfortable riding with snow on the road)

I have been riding more, but overall less exercise due to class. Hopefully I won't gain any over the winter.

Here I am today, just after moving my old wheels over to the new bike. Working with a builder now to get a set of Velocity's Deep V's made. Can't wait for them to get here. That is the stock seat and it seems pretty comfy at this point, but will know more once I take it for a long ride. Will do that in the morning. I got some silver carbon bottle cages from Nashbar on the way, they were on sale for $14.

Chunky, you can't have it. It took me way to much effort to convince the wife I really needed a new bike.
That is the original saddle, and brother does it hurt. I am off to the LBS to get something else as I have a very painful ride last night. Just not ready for a saddle like this yet. The saddle is a San Marco Ponza
