This art work was posted in a thread around here recently, but as usual, I can't find it so I'll just drop it here. If so inclined, one could acquire a print here.

Every now & again you'll see full chrome Raleigh Sports. I've heard it said that they were dealer's display bikes circa '72-'74. My guess this Super Course would fall into that same niche, however I think you're right about the upgrade: that group appears to have been plucked directly off a Raleigh Professional of the same era.

Bruce Gordon Touring bike BLT - $800 (Monument)
https://cosprings.craigslist.org/bik...851237949.html
Looks bigger than a 56, doesn't it? If this were a lugged frame, I'd be sorely tempted.

Big beautiful lugged Reynolds 753 Waterford up in the Madison area.
This is probably the cheapest I've ever seen one for sale:
Waterford 1200, Brooks, full Campagnolo, 65cm - $650 (Verona)
[img]https://images.craigslist.org/00909_...p8_600x450.jpg
*not sure why i'm having so much trouble with the photo uploader today*
"1995 Waterford 1200, 65 cm seat tube (center to center) x 61.5 cm top tube. Reynolds 753. Low miles. No dents, good paint. Needs a couple chips touched up w/ Daytona Blue. Pump peg. Rear eyelets.
Probably 6’2” minimum height to ride this bike— better suited to 6’4”+.
Early 90s Campagnolo components:
Crankset: Athena 53/38
Shifters: Record Syncro downtube index or friction
FD: Athena clamp
RD: Athena or Chorus (uncertain)
Brakes: Athena single pivot
Levers: Athena, (aero or non-aero routing)
BB: Campagnolo
Cassette: 8 speed Campagnolo
Hubs: Veloce 36H 8 spd
Rims: 700c Campagnolo Omega 19 clincher
Stem: 125mm Cinelli 1A
Seatpost: 27.4 American Classic
Bars: 3ttt Competizione
Headset: Stronglight
Saddle: Brooks B17
Pedals and light not included."

Re the chrome super-course,
Except for the 80's ones with Suntour dropouts, they require a separate derailleur hanger; maybe an International

'84 High Sierra Commuter - gen. hub, fenders, rack, Schwalbe tires - $250 - RI
Sanyo gen. hub with integrated 'German' headlight and tail light, 4130 chromo frame, decent fenders and rack, Schwalbe Big Apple tires, canti brakes, VO handlebars, thumb shifters....
Looks like a ready-to-go commuter.
Not bad for $250.

Edit: I'm not sure on the wheels. Something seems off on the geometry.

Cannondale track bike(?) with horizontal dropouts, but has cable stops for rear brake and FD and RD. And double water bottle bosses. But no derailleur hanger. Did their track bikes normally come set up like this? Strange.

^^ The rear dropouts don't look anything like what I've seen on any C-dale, rather crude actually. Highly suspect.

All the BLT's were made in Taiwan. A 56 would have been the largest size probably equivalent to a 58-60, so about your size. Also, I'd bet those wheels are actually 700c. On the smaller models, Bruce spec'ed 26in wheels. On the larger models, it was 700c, I think.
Edit: I'm not sure on the wheels. Something seems off on the geometry.

Someone near the East Point/Atlanta area needs to go save this Austro Daimler Inter-10 with full 531db frameset and what look like stock parts except for the rear derailleur and the saddle. Really clear in last photo ....
... because seriously, I do NOT need to buy another bike! Full 531 tubing silver-brazed in Graz, Austria, 700C wheels, probably my size. Please someone else go buy that!
