Ditto in a 26.6. I asked here if there frame might be distorted, because the tubing should be either 26.4 or 26.8 nominal. I was looking to buy the more common size of XC seatpost until I realized that the seatpost wouldn't be long enough for the frame.

I ordered a 26.2mil off the bay. Hoping it’s the right size. Set inner callipers several times and that’s what i read. I’m planning on red cable housings what are your guys thoughts? I like a pop of color on the white frame. Have a set of bullmoose bars which though i think would look great I want to keep the bike as original as possible. Considering Schwalbe Billy Bonkers to replace the original Ritchey MegaBites that are 30 years old.

Placed was closed and eerily quiet except for this fountain

1989 Schwinn Impact
1986 Ross Mt. Hood
Just picked these up recently. I just could not resist the chrome and smoked chrome. Both 4130 steel.
First time seeing Rollercam brakes.. quite interesting.

howdy - did you re-paint yourself? And with what?
I'll re-post a Bianchi I rattled canned this spring (no close ups....). And I decided to attempt brush on Rustoleum for a whole 'nother single speed project. And I will never post any pics of that!
When I take on these re-finishing projects myself, kind of for the experience, and also out of being a cheapskate, I find them alternating between rewarding, meditative, and insanely frustrating.
Yours looks really good. I could kinda-sorta see a little bit of something on the right side of the top tube decal if I stare at it.
Thanks for posting.

update - early’90s Bianchi
Rattle canned this Bianchi posted last year.
The chainstays barely clear 2in knobbies.
If I keep it long term I might invest in a powder coating that matches the original paint.
Right now I’ll beat on it until I start worrying to much bare steel is exposed. Maybe I’ll make it my touring / commuting/ camping bike and make my RockHopper my trail bike.
Nice first world worries to have!
After. New paint, tires, cables, bottle cages, grips, different bars, used Brooks & Crank Bros pedals. Stem from my RockHopper, I think....
Before. Clunker challenge 100 champion.

Hi, yes quite happy with the end result. I sanded the frame down and filled a small dint on the rear chain stay. Then prime with rustoleum white primer. Followed that up with light sand 2000 grit wet. I gave it a coat of rusto white semi gloss then three coats of rusto pearl mist. I never used that product before but really wanted to try and get the original pearl colour back. Impressed at how this went on. Just make sure you let things cure sufficiently before adding clear or the paint may wrinkle(speaking from experience) patience is one of my strong points. Applied three light coats of clear as it runs really easy then wet light sand once cured 2000 grit. I’m always learning as I go as well. It is so rewarding to do it yourself but yes it can be frustrating at times.

My 92 Stumpjumper
Just switched over to the bullmoose bars and dropped the front derailleur. See what a 1x7 is like for awhile.

My 89 iboc pro is close enough to finished. I restored the frame and just cleaned up the parts swapping a few from the parts bin. Only things bought were the decals a bottle cage brake pads and $4 grips. I bought the tires but think there better on my Sakae, there's some Ritchy gum walls in the bin that'll make it look more original. Just put off riding it atm because my favorite mtb park got destroyed by fire last summer and hasn't reopened.

Picked up this 970 in the morning, overpaid considering the cheap wheels and missing the bottom half of the rear shifter; but it's in my size and a bike I've been looking for. I've already put on a spare set of wheels and plan to make it 9sp once parts become reasonably priced again (may be awhile). Need to look for a stem as well.

Just finished this somewhat bastardised build, 1992 Rocky Mountain Titanium, M950 XTR derailleurs and brakes, XT thumb shifters, RaceFace I-Beam cranks with XT rings and 747 pedals, Syncros post and stem, King headset, VP Racing BB, Campagnolo Stheno rims with XT hubs, XTR 8 speed cogset, Turbo seat, Rocky Mountain handlebar with Tranz-X bar ends, Panaracer Smoke rubber. The unicrown fork is a mystery item, it's ti and has a disc braze-on.

Source for decent 26 skinwall knobbies?
Looking to get some 26 skinwall knobbies for the Ritchey ?
Sources ? Recommendations ?
only thing I can find are Kenya’s or max is DTH. And the DTH are more fire road / street.

The Terra One is a classic looking tire with knobs. The company is based in Switzerland, but they ship to the US based on what I've seen. You have to email them to place an order. Their website is https://www.rideterraone.com/ but their Instagram has more info.

The brakes under the chainstay are known for getting mucked up and stealing ground clearance. Unfortunately, the only replacements that use those posts are U Brakes.

Your Ritchey rules! A couple 26" skinwall options I have looked at in the past (but have yet to use) are the Simworks Homage and the Terra One. The Homage isn't very knobby, but it looks like it has more bite than the DTH. Here's a link: https://sim.works/collections/simwor...6-black-x-skin
