Your Weekend Ride Reports -- July 11/12

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm late! Sorry I haven't posted the Ride Reports thread. I've been having deviated septum surgery.

Nevertheless, how has your cycling been going?

I hope you are recovering well and that your surgery is successful. My daughter had that last month and it has been very helpful for her.

The weather has been hot here, but the mornings in the mountains are sublime. This has been my fairly regular Saturday morning ride:

It always delivers!

The wind has strangely been blowing out of the west for about three weeks now, which makes it very hot and muggy with little rain. Did a Tuesday evening ride to Picnic Is. for 31 miles. Thursday did my Davis Is. ride for 27 miles. Saturday rode to Upper Tampa Bay trail for 40 miles. Sunday I went out to Weedon Is. and back for 38 miles.

I too hope you recover quickly. I rode Sunday. I did 40 miles before the heat got me. I was a mile and a half from home after climbing my last hill. I did Nuun in the water bottle so recovery was quick, maybe 20 minutes indoors. I didn’t really feel it until mashing the hill. Never too proud to walk!

My half way stop at my shop with my Medici
