My First Second Wheel Set...
I am so pshyched! I just returned from buying a second wheelset for my snow bike so I can swap tires more eaily (by swapping wheels).
I stopped by the co-op where I sourced most of the parts for my snow bike's drop-bar conversion last fall. ($70 using a mix of new and used parts)

The bike has been so much fun with drop bars and big fat smoothies (https://www.bikeforums.net/commuting...ig-bouncy.html) that
I wanted to be able to swap studs for smoothies faster and more easily...and that means a 2nd wheel set.
The issues would be making sure the rims were the same width to minimize brake adjustment with each swap, and more importantly finding a 7-speed rear gearset that works with the chain that's already on the bike.
I went back to Pedal Station (https://kidsonbikes.net/pedal-station/) which used to be on on of my bike commute routes, but has moved a few miles away. But the move has given them 5 times the floorspace...on the first floor, and 5 times more in the basement for 10 times the floorspace!
I saw some familiar faces and some of the tech remembered my bike from last fall (and AirZoundAIrhorn will do that) They helped my find the wheels I needed, made sure they were solid, true and spun freely, then they helped me put them on to check whether the gears shifted well...and they did!
The cost? $40 total for both wheels!
I will mount the snow tires after I pick up some inner tubes which I forgot I would need.
It was so unusual because everyone was masked up, and everybody who entered the new store commented loudly on the humoungous size. And those who ventured downstairs made even more noise!
Just $40 bucks!
