Hey All,

I'm riding a Cannondale Synapse Carbon. As you know, Cannondale uses the BB30A BB standard. My crankset is currently FSA SL-K Light.

I am looking to change over to a Shimano Ultegra crankset, utilizing the 24mm standard.

Is this BB my best option to ensure compatibility?

Yeah, that WheelsMFG BB is very nice and would be what I'd typically use.

I also want to make sure nothing else is required (other than installation). Basically get the BB, get the Shimano cranks, remove what's currently installed, install the new BB / Cranks, ride away.

That looks like a product for BB30. My bike is BB30A which is a different standard.

Hambini makes https://www.hambini.com/product/bb30...ottom-bracket/, which may have slightly better bearings and thus run with slightly less friction, but were it me I'd just do the WheelsMFG.

That should be fine. I installed that same BB on a friend's CAAD12 with Shimano Ultegra cranks. It's been about a year now and he's had no problems or complaints.

Thanks! The WheelsMfg is also much less cost ($150CDN vs £155) and in stock in Canada.

So again, back to my original question. No other parts required with these hubs? Just buy the hub, cranks, and install away?

Yes, it was a very simple install. However, the cups didn't take much effort to press into the frame. As a matter of fact, we didn't even need to use a press. We did make sure we screwed the cups together as tight as possible. My friend contacted Wheels Manufacturing asking if this was correct. Wheels Manufacturing assured him that in some cases a press wouldn't be necessary and as long as the cups were screwed together tight enough he shouldn't have any issues.

Like I said, it's been a year, maybe longer, and he's had no problems.

I don't recall needing any additional parts other than what came with the BB. We didn't even need any spacers.

Thanks everyone. Will likely go the WheelsMfg route. At nearly double the price, I don't think I can justify the extra cost with the Hambini.

I am planning to do the same. Does anyone one have the Wheelsmfr BB30a conversion to Shimano model number?
The Caad12 shell wide is 73 mm if I recall. Is this a problem for Shimano spindle length?
