Hutchinson Overide. The 38 is my TL road priority + gravel tire. Not a true slick but close. It has a tiny tread bumps across the center section, those will be gone in hundred or so miles... Comes in slightly over 38 on a 23 rim.

I built up my Soma Fog Cutter with Gravelking 700x38s in Stan's Grail rims. They measure 40mm, after about a week. The ride feels luxuriously smooth on rough pavement. There are obviously many variables including the new bike, some weight loss, increasing fitness, etc, so speed comparisons are of questionable value. Nonetheless, I've set enough PRs to suggest they can't be awfully slow. They are relatively loud for a "slick". Today I cut a sidewall on a small stone on the road; disappointing but I suppose that could happen to about any tire. A stan's dart got me home, but the tire is toast.
Flat notwithstanding, I'll give a recommendation for mostly paved use, if 40mm is desirable. Personally I'll probably try 35s next.
