Spring is apparently Colnago build thread season, so I'll pile on. I got this as a frame/fork a few years back. The prior owner had removed the decals, but never gotten around to stripping or painting it, and it lingered like that a while with me while I tried to decide what to do with it. I finally got around to building it up last summer, on the theory that I should ride it and decide it I like it before painting it. I liked it. I got some decals when Velocals was having a sale, in preparation for a re-paint. But then I grew rather fond of the original paint, heavily patina'd as it is, and the metallic orange is a real winner. I realized that the areas where the original decals had been were in rather good shape, and finally decided to just re-decal the original paint, and call it done. So it's done. A semi-original rider. I'll take some better pictures someday when the weather cooperates.

Update. Finally took a decent portrait. A couple small bits have changed too: doppler shifters (sorry - anachronistic, but oh-so nice). Also, the NR RD now has a later SR cage, so can better handle the 28t in the rear.

It wears its beusage well. It took me about 10 seconds for me to decide to leave the original paint intact on my old Grandis, scrapes and all.
I had to google the term "doppler shifters," I didn't know C-Record came in a retroflection variety.

The ride is very nice. It seems to really like hills--feels like it wants to go. The Compass tires don't hurt either.

I like the original paint. The Orange is pretty cool and it still has a nice shine to it. It presents itself well. Really nice for a 42 year old bike.

Yellow head tube decal
Very wise decision leaving the paint original. Pictures don’t do the metallic orange justice. I have one. They’re stunning. I think you should put a yellow colnago club decal on it. They were used for one year and one year alone in 76. Would be a nice touch. Cherry on top. Fine work.

Interesting about the one-year yellow club detail. I am guessing at the year of my bike, mostly from the 1010B dropouts which were used about mid 1975 to the end of 1976. What drops does your green Super have, norskagent?
