Here's a summary of what went on at the World Human Powered Speed Challenge:

89.68 Mph (144.33 Kph) World Record for Todd Reichert!
82+ Mph (132+ Kph) For Ryohei Komori, an Asia And Japan National Record.
73.72 Mph, 118.64 Kph for Gareth Hanks, a New World Trike (Multitrack) Record
For Ken Buckley, a British National Record.
For Aurélien Bonneteau, a French National Record.
For Andrea Gallo, a Italian National Record.
For Yasmin Tredell, a British Women's Record.
For Florian P Kowalik, a Junior World Record.

The videos are fascinating, but they only give you glimpse of the scale of the event and the venue.

Amazing world record in the Aerovelo machine! Gives me the claustrophobic willies to think about being inside it, much less hauling a** in a straight line at high speed.

Thanks for posting, I was having trouble finding the final results.

Kinda shows real men dont need no stinking motor. I keep telling my middle son that who rides a Harley. He just grumps.

My friends that dont bike have a hard time believing that a man power device could do nearly 90 mph. Actually they kind of find it hard to believe that a man of my age rides approx 30 miles every other day. They golf with a cart, and get almost no exercise at all. The result is I am in good health, and they are not.
