Top Speed
Just wondering what you guys & gals have had out of your bikes?
My current record is 83.8kmh (could have gone faster but ran out of road).
Highest one whilst filming was 50mph as on my group page.
If you have video of them please upload to my yahoo group:

This is well discussed topic. If you do a search you'll find several threads on it.
My top speed was 62mph decending Mullholland between Kannan and Encinal.

The other day when I was descending down Old San Marcos an impressed motorcycle decided to pace me. When he cought up to me afterwards told me he was going 55, and I was pulling away from him in the corners. My spedometer disagreed, said I only had a max of mid-40s.

I'd be soiling my pants if I was doing over 60 mph on a bicycle.

62.3 going down Big Mountain Road in Whitefish. One of the sections has about 3/4 of a mile between switchbacks. This was done on a 1996 Bianchi Trofeo. SHAKY.

This is sort of like braging about kicking a 14 yard field goal after reading some of the speeds posted above but here in flat-land Minnesota 44 mph is my top.

What really really is hard to fathom is elite pro's are doing around 5mph faster, I dont know where they get that kind of power w/o drugs.

FWIW Tuna is a lot twister than this section of Mulholland, Decker from Mulholland road to Westlake Blvd has a couple of sections that are steeper than Tuna but you could never attain the speeds you hit on Tuna because of the turns. Conversely you can go faster down Stunt because it's straighter than Tuna.
