Shimano Deore M592-SGS compatibility

Hi,

I want to know if the Shimano Deore M592-SGS rear derailleur can work with Altus or Acera or Alivio shifter? It is a 9 speed rear derailleur.

Thanks

Yes. It will work with any of those shifters.

Will a Deore M6000 10 speed rear deraileur work with a Altus, Acera or Alivio 9 speed shifter? I am asking as it seems tech is different. These shifters are rapidfire type.

Why the want to downgrade significantly? 10 speed MTB works with 10 speed MTB and 10 speed Road works with 10 speed Road (the exception being Tiagra 4700 which is only compatible with it self and possibly could be made to work with 11 speed road components but not Shimano approved and haven't tried it myself)

Get the proper 9 or 10 speed shifter in the highest level of quality you can and it should last quite a while if taken care of and not abused.
