New 725 Build. Rides great so far (except for a slip on ice during its maiden voyage!)

Purchased a 725 set for the black friday special. Just waiting on a crankset, will post pics when it's done. Pretty excited since this is my first custom build of my own. Learned a lot. Will appreciate the ride much more I think.

I finally got my 721 put together. I ended up with a 53cm instead of a 48.5. This is the PedalRoom: 2014 Leader 721 53cm Glossy Silver - Pedal Room

Really? I was under the impression that for most people toe clips (especially with street shoes) do little and some (Grant Peterson, mostly) have even argued the same for clipless. The exception, of course, is riding fixed.

foot retention = power throughout the entire pedal stroke
why do you think every single professional cyclist use clipless pedals?

I like clipless just because it keeps my foot in one place. I don't like the feeling of my foot being able to move everywhere when I'm pedaling. Probably don't have the best pedaling technique, but who cares? I'm not going pro.

Toe clips(with street shoes) are really nice to have(and really ****ty not to have) when its raining/wet. Standing up to accelerate and slipping on a pedal sucks.

I have always ridden freewheel with clips of some kind, and mostly SPD. It makes a huge difference. Huge. Just finished my 725 build and will be posting pics when the weather isn't ****e. I have never liked toe clips as much as SPD, and the Chrome line of SPD compatable shoes are awesome for urban riding.
