help girardengo frame.....

Hello from Argentina, I am looking for information about this road frame. Girardengo the headbadges DOES NOT HAVE THE GIRARDENGO SIGNATURE as seen in other shields. the tube is very fine. the botton bracket is 36mm x 24 IT DOES NOT HAVE VICIBLE SERIAL NUMBER. the seat lugs clamp is bianchi type. the fork I'm not sure it's original. I am looking for data that can shed light on this road frame

some fellowforists have any idea about this road frame??. what years is it approximately ?? What model is it? the fork is original ???? I would very much appreciate your contribution. The Girardengo I met all had serial numbers. it does not own any. In what year did the coat of headbadges of Giardengo begin to have the signature Girardengo?

This is just my wild-ass guess. The internal cable routing, the pump pegs behind the seat tube and the seat cluster all point to a sport bike from the 1950s. Upright bars. Single chainring up front. 3 speeds in the rear was typical for the time.

Of course, there are exceptions, I just think a sport bike is most likely. Can't say anything about the headbadge, I just don't know.

Here is a picture that may help you date your head badge. Photo courtesy of Utahrandoneur.

frame's bulge-formed head is Agrati "SPORT" pattern and is item nr. 000.8056 (or a replica thereof)

suspect we are looking at an Argentine produced machine

This makes the most sense to me also. The head badge style alone roughly places this frame in the 1949-59 era. The BB looks quite similar to this 1947 Girardengo version (below) and the seat stay caps are also quite similar. By 1952 Girardengo began using other BB and lug styles as well as seat stay end treatments which stayed pretty consistent through the 1960's. Also this particular internal cable routing seems appropriate for a single speed which would mean this routing is for a rear brake cable and not for a gear mechanism. I have not yet seen an early Girardengo with a three speed hub. If I were guessing I would call this a 1950 Girardengo Tipo Viaggio Uomo (men's travel type).

I do have a 1950 Girardengo catalog which shows 13 models available for that year that I have yet to scan. I will try and get that done and posted in a day or two so you can see for yourself.

Here is another bike that shares a few characteristics with the OP's example above but from a later era.

Thank so much for this excellent information!

Seat lug on orangish frame is Agrati "SPORT" pattern and is item nr. 023.8059

Stock number for the complete ensemble with either bulge-formed head or separate head lugs is item nr. 000.8050/U

Seat stay plug on orangish frame looks to be similar to item nr. 509 in this illustration -

I also have this (yet to be uploaded to the barn) image, said to be of a 1949 Girardengo. I guess I had better get busy!

Also, that brake cable routing is reminiscent of this later model Girardengo.
