Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Giant Revolt Advanced 2 or Cannondale Topstone 105 Carbon as Road Bike

Buying a gravel bike but want to do a lot of road riding too. Any thoughts on which of these would be better as a road bike? Also likely to get a second set of wheels for either.

Thanks.

Revolt. Cheaper, stiffer, better & lifetime warranty on the frameset.

The Revolt is great on the road, with a second set of wheels with road tires, most people don't even know it's a gravel bike.

That Revolt is the opposite of revolting.

Very nice!

Topstone requires a special dishing on the rear wheel which will greatly reduce any future wheel choices. My Giant has been great. Even though it has 42’s and a new GRX rear mech for off road duty, I find myself riding it a lot just on normal pavement rides When I dont feel like hammering it and going fast because it is so good and comfortable.

if you end up on the road more and want to go faster, 30mm gravel king+ slicks and 50/34 chainrings. I've got that setup on my revolt.
