Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I figured I'd give this 'cross thing a shot and just picked up an entry level Jamis Nova Sport. It got decent reviews and with a sale, a 10% off coupon and a $100 gift certificate it was priced right as well.

I dont know if this qualifies as a gravelgrinder, but it´s my substitute at least.

My old Cyclocross Poisonbike with new wheels and tyres, close enough i think?

I am really pleased with my new tyres Surly Knard 41mm, they really sit well on the rims that are 23mm wide.

Thank you! I love it. Its incredibly comfortable and had little to no break-in period. The only advice i will give however is make sure you have it positioned correctly, you find yourself sliding down the nose even when slightly tipped forward, and if your seatpost is just a little too high and you find yourself rocking back and forth, things can get very uncomfortable in erm... places...

This was my first road bike - my stepdad's old '79 Univega Sportour. It suffered neglect after I got a "real" road bike. I am glad to have repurposed it for gravel riding - converted from 27inch rims to 700c, 10 speed from the original 5 speed and downtube shifters upgraded to STI. It is an absolute blast and these old steel road frames often accomodate wide tires. Took it on its first real gravel ride today with 3500 feet of elevation gain at Seven Springs, AZ.

OK thanks, it sounds like the saddle is great just needs a little bit of adjusting to get thing's just right. I'm probably going to get one soon, I'll have to order it from my local shop, plus they have a satisfaction guarantee so if for whatever reason I don't like it they'll take it back no questions asked.

Sounds like a fantastic customer service program they have! Make sure to ask the people who work there if anyone has one, maybe they will let you take a spin on their bike in the parking lot or something to see if you like it. A mechanic at my lbs did that to me! He bought one after riding mine

Bit of an all-rounder bike, currently with gravel-friendly tires. Also featuring horrible phone camera that really likes glowy white.

Finished the build yesterday. I was on a tight budget, but I chose the parts wisely. Reminds me of my old cyclo-cross bike.

Just got this yesterday. Specialized Diverge A1 Sport. Took it out of local rails to trails. A whole lot of fun. What a difference to compared to my mountain bike. Like riding a Ferrari.

I am a fan. Between sizing up (went from a 42 to a 44) so I can actually use the bar tops while cruising around, and the extra flare for more confident descents and rough surface riding, I am definitely sold.

They have definitely been my favorite upgrade to this bike. The stock Tiagra brifters had sloppy brake lever feel, and were not very sensitive, so I often had to make sure I pushed the lever to its full range or else I would have to shift again. These are smooth, quick, precise, and allow multiple shifts in one motion. Love them.

Today was very enjoyable. Built her, named her Roxanne, and took her for her first ride around a local arboretum. Belt drive's are AMAZINGLY smooth and quiet!

Yeah I run DA barends with interrupters right behind them, totally agree with the awesomeness of the shifters. Good to hear the braking function is intact; initial reviews of gevenalle/retroshifts were not good...wondering if this should be one of my next upgrades.
