61 mile club ride on the tandem. One stop of rain, just enough to get the bike really filthy

I extended my commute home this morning to 20 miles and was still snuggly in bed before sunrise!

It's still raining. Fortunately I do most of my commuting in the dark this time of the year. Drivers can easily see me due to my light-show, more easily I think than during a rainy daylight commute.

I rode home Thursday evening in the rain, rode back into work Friday evening in the rain, and now home again on Saturday morning in the rain. So, who'll stop the rain?!?!

I don't usually ride on weekends, but there was a need for a trip to the grocery today. Off I went.

A cold weather ride today. Ice on the ponds, and afternoon temps of 45f.

Rode 73 miles from home to the northern suburbs of Chicago and back. 4.5 hours of almost continuous riding, with one stop at 45 miles for water and a stop for chili at 50 miles. The cold weather really builds an appetite!

Slow and easy 30 miles, metric century tomorrow. Forecast calls for rain and wind all day.

I do not like the wet dark autumn days we often have here. So much easier to kep my spirits up when the weather is good. Friday, saturday and today have been great and I've been out on my mountainbike all three days. The smaller lakes are freezing so if we get snow now it might stay for the winter in the backwoods.

Had two nice back-to-back 30 mile rides yesterday and today as my last prep before a hilly metric century next Saturday. Today's ride was extra sweet because I installed my new Garmin 800. I just love all of the data...and yes, I'm a nerd.

No hard training rides or intervals during November in order for the body to reset itself for next 11 month cycle. Today was another fun hour riding the mtb on some local mtb trails.

I rode yesterday 35 hilly miles going over the Berkeley hills--beautiful weather with some wind--gorgeous fall colors as well,
Today it is too wet to ride.

40 mile organized ride. Heavy rain and 10-15 mph winds the whole way. Made it without any crashes or mechanical problems, I'm happy to say.

Played hooky and finally got my 50th birthday ride in today.
51 miles, one for each year + a pinch to grow an inch.

Birthday was Friday but couldn't ride due to work.
Work on Saturday also, then a surprise party.
WAY hung over yesterday, couldn't get out of
bed, let alone on the bike.

Relaxing with key lime pie & a corona now.

Cheers,

Kelly

34 miles at a Z2 effort in 1:45. The weather was clear, light winds and temps dropping from the mid 50's into the upper 40's. I only wore light tights, LS under armor an a SS jersey on top. My toes were cold the last few miles. The rest of the week here is supposed to be really nice with temps into the 60's for one last teaser of bygone nice days.

I love a bowl of chili on a cold ride. There is a place in the hills that has tri-tip chili, it's great. The other chili place I liked burned down last year in the massive fire.

Saturday I joined a Bike Forums ride on Mt Baldy, the first one in ages. There is a thread...

Three of us rode today from New Bremen, OH to Grand Lake, Saint Marys, OH. Rode along a portion of the lake, then rode into Saint Marys for lunch at a pastry shop. After lunch we continued our ride on a different route back to New Bremen where we had coffee and a cookie or muffin. Seems like all we did was eat doesn’t it. Great ride, super weather. Cool when we started out about 9:30 am, but within a few miles we were taking off layers to keep from overheating. Had a great ride, hope the weather continues to be nice for a while longer.

I rode that area on XOBA '04 or '05...can't remember which. I really enjoyed the ride along the lake. We visited the Bicycle Museum and camped at a school in Minster just south of there. Next day we rode south through Dayton to Miamisburg.

Rode last night with a half dozen Night Riders on a "fun paced ride" for 33.5 miles with a 20.6 mph average. It was clear, cool, flat and fast with mostly single line riding and guys taking 2-3 minute pulls. After the ride we had sandwiches and beer in a local establishment, which was even more fun.

I made this epic movie invite to garner interest.

40 kilometers with a couple of hills thrown in. As I've been mostly riding a rail trail for the last 6 weeks those hills hurt a bit although I'm sure they will hurt more tomorrow. On the up side, it was a beautiful day and I hit 73kph going down 'mf" hill!

Snow and ice last night. As I am still recovering from the fusion, no time to take chances. So, I walked 3 miles (something I could NOT do before the fusion 4 weeks ago), went to PT and swam 45 minutes.

I'm enjoying the trip home from work with the waxing moon shining down from cloudless skies. What a difference the end of daylight savings time makes.

55 mile ride on a PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT, day!

65 degrees, light overcast, light winds and little traffic.

Finished in 3 hours, 5 minutes. One of my fastest rides, for the distance, all year.
