Great Cyclocross and Gravel Deals

Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Is it just me, or are those really ugly frame shapes?

they are really ugly. Or at least polarizing. They won a design award on them, but some people hate them. Still, it should be good for grabbing, carrying, shouldering, and dismount/remounts...

Looks like they made a mistake on their web site, and put two 10% discounts on one model, giving it 20% off (and the other model 0% off).

Now they have fixed it to be 10% off on all frames. Darn, the 20% was too good to be true...

Im into traditional diamond frames with level top tubes as often as possible, but get other designs can be beneficial and this is one such alternative frame that is an improvement.

Watched a 10min youtube vid on it and came away thinking it was actually well thought out for its purpose. I usually just see a bunch of BS marketing, so i was neat to be convinxed of the ingenuity.

Canyon has a big problem with their US website. Quality control is very poor and it has been ongoing.

Initial release and several weeks after had wrong prices, photo's of MTB frames and MTB wheels on their road bike pages, wrong components in component lists and a whole host of other content related issues. Mistakes like this have been very common.

And design awards mean little to anyone outside of a narrow group of industry insiders and design engineers. I have a neighbor with a PhD in robotics who goes on and on about the "award winning engine" in his Nissan Maxima.

If Canyon made a gravel bike there's a strong chance I'd buy one. Their bikes are well thought out and engineered, great looking (except for the cx one), priced well and consistently get great reviews for their riding characteristics.

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, i would guess with the momentum the brand has gained, a gravel bike would probably sell well.

It will totally depend on where you live and where the nearest quarry is. Gravel is cheap, delivery is expensive. Where I'm at i can get a single axle truckload of 53's for $150 delivered.
