Dry Eyes

anyone here dealing with Dry Eye Syndrome? I was diagnosed with it a couple years ago and do the warm compress each night and artificial tears. Just had cataract surgery in both eyes which came out great, except my eyes feel drier than before, I’m really using alot of artificial tears now. Anyone have the problem and found some relief? I’d appreciate your help!

I have dry eyes. My eye Doctor put me on 50mg of doxycycline once a day. He gave me the theory but it was beyond me. It did make my eyes feel better. I also wash my eyelids twice a day. I start
with warm compress or splash water on my face. Then wash the lids with baby shampoo with 5
drops of tree tea oil to 8 ounces of baby shampoo. This is supposed to unclog the oil glands
which help keep the eyes moist. I do use drops but not that often anymore. At night I use gel drops or I get a tube of what is more or less vaseline for the eyes. Seems to work for me.

I take Omega-3 as recommended by my doctor and it helps. Specifically Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega. No fishy taste at all. I get them at GNC so I can check the expiration date for freshness. It might take some days or weeks to kick in.

I use Refresh Optive. Cheap and effective for me.

I got diagnosed about 6 years ago and have done nothing about it. My eye (right eye only) tears up frequently especially when it is cold out and when I am cycling almost always. I guess I have gotten used to it because it doesn't really bother me anymore. Besides , the ladies think I'm a sensitive guy! Joe
