I think I am back

Week 4 = 163 road/gravel miles 519 miles in 4 weeks so Iím happy. The jelly in the belly is decreasing while still eating like a pig and slamming a few beers. Today (Monday) forcing myself not to ride because I know I need a rest day and on Tuesday I will feel great on the bike. I have plenty of manual labor chores I must do like plumbing and chainsawing some dead trees. Iím wondering what yíall guys and gals take is on off days or recovery in general? The question is asked often but I would like to hear everyoneís opinions. I guess Iím excited to be back on my bikes itís great therapy for my brain and my waistline

Recovery days depend on how hard you work, but yeah, recovery days at least 1 or 2 a week for me.

Welcome back!

I wish I could train 6 days a week. I try to maintain a Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday combined indoor & outdoor riding schedule. I'm indoors during bad weather. Typically a total of 6-8 hours worth weekly. Work often requires me to reduce this to 3 days a week, or about 5 hours. Not enough, but better then none.

I've been oushpus very hard in January and February (200 miles per week) 6 days a week. The plan is to cut down to 4 or 5 days a week and 150 miles a week during the season. One day will be recovery and if I go 5 days, two days will be recovery.
