If you are over 55 always ask for a senior discount. You will be amazed how many times you will save money.

Getting back to the OPs's original question...If you're looking for bike discounts, whether you're +/- 55, check out local bike clubs. Many have set up perks with local bike shops so that members get discounts. Join a club for $15 or $20 and get 10% or higher discounts at an LBS pays for itself quickly.
