Long time Clyde

Some years ago I was 300+ and I probably got down to 190. After moving back to the US about 6 years ago I started stacking on 5-10 lbs every year until I hit 240 or a little more.

Today I stepped on the scale at 201 so I'm still a Clyde but hopefully just for a couple more days. I have been riding my bike like crazy for the last 4 or 5 months. Been riding 25 miles about 5x's a week and running 3 miles on the off days. Got myself on about a 2000 to 2500 calorie diet as well that surprisingly I have stuck to with no real cheating. I eat what I want but count calories and have to budget.

Just got my log in back after a number of years and just thought I'd check in and say hello.

John

Since your goal is to leave Clydedom, congratulations. (I've been talking with someone who is losing weight due to chronic illness.)

I'm hoping to join you soon.

If you look back through BikeForums posts you can see I've been a Clyde on and off for years.

With the onset of the pandemic and the word that obesity is a complicating factor, I decided in July to do something about it. I was 248 pounds on July 25 when I started. Saturday I weighed in at 209. Sub-200 is in sight.

I’m the same way up and down all my life. I lost 40 lb this year and only need three more lb to dip under 200. I need 20 more to reach my target weight of 180.

I know that I’ll never be under 200# unless I’m near death!

6’4” Clyde here and I see a realistic healthy weight goal of 220# for me.
