Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The boy and the wife are both officially on vacation - time to celebrate with a seasonal brew.

This was my first time having this, though I've enjoyed other beers from Chouffe. *Very* cherry. Maybe as fruity as I've experienced in a beer. That and the booze content has it toeing the Robitussin line; some, like me wife, will not approve. I like it, though I wouldn't have more than one in a sitting and the four pack is probably enough for the year.

Spent the day hibernating with a little napping thrown in and I almost never nap, never have. Must have been in need of a recharge.

Yeah, I'm thinking that 25mm will be a no-go on this track bike fork.

That's a Veloflex Master 700cX25mm measuring right at 23mm. No room for a brake either without a riser bolt.

Although, 650bX38mm at 37mm actual fits with more than enough clearance for a brake

I always found it cooler, temperature wise. Plus you get a better tan without all the shade.

Hey Whyfi, are you still waxing you chains? I think I'm sold on it. I did use Teflon powder, don't know if it did anything, but its in there. I rewaxed 4 times all year. 4800 miles. No discernable wear on any of 3 chains. Chain checker and measuring tape says all within spec. And clean baby clean!
howed it go for you?

Yup, still waxing. No desire to go back. Other than the initial degreasing, which is once per year at best, it's just so much easier.

I know right! They never got loud, never got dirty. The sound would become a little more metallic on one or the other. So I would just service them both. 4 times all year...lol its like magic..

Opinions please.
I've been looking @ Durainians Pragma bikes. I am leaning towards the, I didn't make this up, "Balls deep" frame set. I really like the black gold fade. Or silver black fade.. It was going to be silver black but the gold black is growing on me alarmingly. I was looking at Winspace but I can get S works for a bit more. I think Durianians are Yeoleo? Anyway, what are you all thoughts?

I didn't realize that he was slinging bikes. What's the story with the price? And I actually really like this white-with-80's-splatters paint job.

Slathering sunscreen on my legs at full hair length is one of the grossest thing I do on an occasional basis.

I still haven't replaced the right steering rack boot on minivan #2, if you wanna drop by. She's also due for a transmission filter replacement if you wanna go for a marathon 10mm bolt removal session.

Wow, beautiful sunset in Utica.

Genesee Valley Transportation Co., Inc. Mohawk, Adirondack, & Northern Railroad 805 (ex-BCOL 805, née Erie Lackawanna 2455, Alco C425, 10/1964) and 2042 (née-BCOL 642, MLW M420W, 9/1973) sit outside the railroad's Utica, New York shops on the evening of Friday, Decemeber 18, 2020. A significant snowfall the day before and temperatures in the teens keeps an icy feel. While Charles Millar and Son has been out of business for many years, its name is still on the brick building in the background, with the former New York Central Railroad (currently Amtrak) station to the right. photo by Mark Glucksman

I got the Brooks tensioned back up, and even oiled the Raleigh's chain while I was at it. Hands are clean and dry. Gonna blow off the rest of the stuff for now (this is the main reason I have backup bikes).

I should get tubeless setup on the Basso instead of foolin' with tubes. I couldn't get the beads to snap in with a handpump, so might have to spring for a pancake compressor to get that done.

Hes been sling them for a while. You email him with your requirements. Paint, size, etc. Shipping info he comes back with a price. Pretty sure I read they were Yeolos being rebranded for him @ the factory. I've been fighting the urge to build one of them. It's not like I need another bike...well I do a gravel/mountain bike. But I have a 10 speed red groupo sitting here and carbon wheels... I could make a nice weight weeny machine.
Kinda want one. But I want to see what the industry is going to do with brakes too. I don't want to build a rim brake bike if the industry is moving to disk.
