100+ Mile Club! It's time to do some March Miles! Join the FUN!
It's time to get off the couch and on to the bike! The weather is going to get better for a lot of us, so let's get out and improve our fitness. Set a goal and show your progress; a goal will motivate you to ride when/if you don't want to.
Even if you can't do 100+ miles, set a goal anyway and get started on improving your fitness. But most of all, have fun!

I've stayed away for a couple of months... let's see if I can 150 out this month... I've got some serious catching up to do from Jan/Feb!

Sky cleared up in the afternoon and got out for a windy 19 mile solo ride on the shores of Folsom Lake. Rain over the last few days is starting to put a small dent in the drought situation in California, but still plenty of muddy/sandy lake shore to explore.
Mileage for 2014 so far is 1,278. Most of that is just commuting back and forth to work.

I'm going for 175 miles this month. That's down a little from previous months, but with the weather pattern I'm seeing (wet, chilly) and from my recently acquired case of RRF (roller riding fatigue), 175 seems like a doable figure.
I rode another tough stage in the Tour de Basement today, 14 miles while watching the NASCAR race. Wow, they sure have a lot of commercials!
Goal: 175 miles
MTD: 14 miles

If the ice stays off the road, I am targeting a really hilly 200K Brevet in late March but need to be able to do that distance cumulatively on two consecutive days in order to have a chance; thus, I am targeting a long steady 80 miler on March 15 and a 40-50 miler on March 16. My longest ride thus far has been 42 miles due to bad weather. Plan B is a mid-April Century.
I will lose 10 more pounds this month, 8 pounds in April, May, and June.

Since I ordered my Escape 1 on Saturday, even if the weather warms up now, I'm not taking my first ride of 2014 on the Walmart bike. That is now my daughter's bike if she wants to go with me and to see if she'd ride enough to warrant spending the money on a good bike for her.
Once it comes in (hopefully the end of the week for next weekend) I'll try my best to get 100 miles in for March. Actually, that wouldn't be to hard to do, I think I was doing 200 last year per month for the 3 months I rode. I can't remember exactly what I was doing as it's been so long since I've been on the bike.
Wish I could have ridden Saturday, weather was fantastic. Weather was also fantastic for replacing the brakes on my wife's car though along with having to run for a new battery, stopping at the bike shop while in town for the battery, and preparing for a 40th anniversary party for my in-laws, there just wasn't any time to go out on the bike for the first time.
Perhaps I should take a ride on the ole Walmart job sometime this week. That will make next week's ride on the new Giant all the more sweeter

Made the last two months of 24 hours on the trainer goal, maybe I'll get real miles in later this month. It was still -16F this morning, so that might be wishful thinking.
Same thing, 24 hours of trainer time. Took a three day recovery, will be starting up again tonight. 450 all purpose miles. I've made that the last two months on the trainer alone and just really want to actually move when in the saddle. Seriously. I'm going crazy.

I'm training for STP in July. The training plan calls for 530 miles in March. I'm hoping the weather gets a little better here in the Pacific Northwest.

Do roller miles count? So far I've only got 3, but will be ramping that number up.

If they don't let us inside riders in on the fun, that would be prejudiced and I don't think that's right haha
Next year...I'm getting a trainer again and a cheap bikedirect road bike for both inside and out during bad weather
