Specialized Diverge DSW Elite 2016 or 2017?

Specialized Diverge DSW Elite 2016 or 2017?
Hi.
I can get the 2016 model for $1200 + tax and the 2017 model for $1310 + tax.
I'm not sure which one to get
This will be the first bike of this kind I've owned. I've only used mtb's in the past.
Saving $$$ on the 2016 sounds nice. I could always use that money for other accessories such as pedals / shoes / CG-R. I've read people don't like the SCS but it seems there is the simple solution of buying a $20 hanger.
I'm not sure which crankset would be best for me. A lot of the riding I do is on gravel / rocks. However, since this would be my first road bike, I'd like to start riding roads a lot more. And I'd like to take it into the hills and do some climbing.
Thoughts?

After googling both since i dont know off the top of my head what each model offers, i would go for the '16 since its less expensive and has angearing range that better suits me.
Never heard of that praxis crank, could be junk or great, but its a better range for me when coupled with the max range cassette that drivetrain can handle.
You will not spin out on the '16 gear range. 48/11 will be used on downhills only pretty much.
Personally, i would benefit from the climbing gearing on the '16 both on steep paved roads and gravel climbs.
...seems steep either way for Tiagra drivetrain and Spec wheelset? Maybe im being stingy. If you like em, go ride.

Right now I'm leaning towards the 2016 model. I might purchase it tomorrow after work.

2016 diverge elite here. It's awesome. Save your monies for better tires and other stuff.
