Not buying a mountain bike I was looking at back in Apr. I just bought a new road bike in Feb. and wanted to space the purchases out a bit. But then COVID-19 hit, everybody bought bikes, no replacements are available and the dealer floor is now full of customers bikes waiting for service.

I do that too...in my old fridge, I could stand the bottle upright....but I got a new one last year and the frezer is on the bottom and I have to lay the bottles on their side....and the lids get frozen on.

I just run a little warm water over the lid, it thaws it enough to open and then top up.

Can I ask why this was a bad decision? I've been thinking about putting some water in my water bottles and putting them in the freezer a few hours before my ride. This was as the ice melts, it will keep the water cool. Is this not a good plan?
As for me? Worst decision was buying a long sleeve jersey that was final sale. I didn't trust the sizing chart and ended up with a jersey that was too big. A quick trip to the tailor fixed my gaff, but wrecked any savings I might have enjoyed.

Thats on my amazon list. I have the cheapest bottle you can find currently. I wasn’t bringing water with my most rides until about a couple of months ago, when the heat really picked up.

OOPS, worst decision this year was >>>
9 weeks ago this morning at 1:25AM on a Midnight Madness 100 Miler at mile 33 riding 20.1mph I was hit by a 150lb wild hog. Resulting crash caused a cracked left scapula, 2 cracked ribs, a punctured lung and left shoulder joint injury. Only injury to bike was a slightly tweaked brifter. Will be 70 on 7/10 so recovery is slow but steady. A couple of weeks ago I was able to ride 60 miles on a Tuesday and then 115 miles on the following Friday.

I always have 2 water bottles half filled with frozen water waiting in the freezer to be used. When I head out I simply fill with ice cubes and then cold refrigerated water. If it is HOT and HUMID like tonight's Midnight Madness 100 Miler will be, I will fill one bottle with Heineken 0.0 and ice.
Crazy story about your midnight madness rides too! Wow! Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery.

Cycling makes me too happy to consider anything related with it a "bad decision".

I have my custom bike sitting in Niagara Falls, New York and as a Canadian I am not allowed to cross the border and pick it up. It maybe a long time before I am allowed to cross the border so I don't think I will be riding that bike this year, but maybe next.

exactly what happened to me for $275!
I fitted myself on my old bike and never was more comfortable and could push more power than on my new $275 fit

could be equipment related. could be pandemic related. could be purchase related. could be fatigue or sleep deprivation related. could be maintenance related. could be an in-race decision...
in a year chock full of questionable (at best) decisions, what's your worst cycling decision so far in 2020?

I hadn't recovered enough for that from mild COVID-19, was beat tired after just 10 minutes the next weekend, and it took at least two weeks to get back to where I was.
I was a bit concerned after my heart did this with left side chest pain, while my pulse was about 140 riding and definitely 110 at the end:

"Deciding" to black-out and hit a tree, breaking 9 ribs.
Would not recommend.

Not adequately paying attention while riding between concrete abutments so I didn’t notice that the two I was crossing between had a cable stretched there. Surprise!
Ouch.
