Retapped Peugeot/SL cranks?
Anyone on here ever encounter what were originally 9/16 cranks retapped to french standards?
I was just cleaning a set of Peugeot branded Stronglight cranks that I thought were originally French threaded because that’s what fit. Then I noticed this:
Did someone retap these to make the bike more “French”?
Hoping it won’t hurt their sale potential on Ebay/CL. I have Atom pedals to match in any case.

I have a PX-10 that the French threads were gacked on, restored them and installed some French spindles in a set of Campy record pedals so all good to go now.

This was a common problem back in the day. People would put French thread pedals into ISO-thread cranks, ride a bit, and promptly strip out the threads on the cranks.
