Hello from Louisiana

I love vintage road and touring bikes. My collection consists of an '81 Peugeot Competition and '79 Super Competition as well as an '87 Bianchi Campione d'Itlania. I have really enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful bikes on this forum and have learned quite a bit about cycling from y'all. Thanks!

Nice bikes. Are you in New Orleans? A lot of the Peugeots in NOLA came out of the Bikesmith bike shop on Freret.

I'm in Walker, outside of Baton Rouge. I bought my '81 Peugeot Competition from a guy in NOLA. It's my everyday rider with Shimano 105 derailleurs but it still has the cool Stronglight 104 drilled crankset.

I grew up in BTR, visited last year and rode a bike into my old neighborhood. Not a bike friendly area anymore. Apparently bikes are not allowed on sidewalks, and the roads are unsafe...
Probably less congested in Walker, welcome to the forums.

Baton Rouge is not the best city for riding bikes, just because you paint a bike on a road does not make it safe. I have a 30 mile route I ride by my house where dogs are my main worry and I have to carry dog spray. I have been bitten and once a dog ran under my wife's bike throwing her off.
